FUSE is a leadership development team created to encourage and focus leadership in our school community. We bring the student leaders of our school together for 2 meetings a month. At our first meeting each month, students are enriched by lessons on important leadership skills. At the second an open idea forum is formed in which we brainstorm ideas for improving our school.
In the Summer of 2007, the Gwinnett County Student Leadership Team (GSLT) hosted a county-wide leadership summit. During this summit, every attendee was given one mission: create something that will benefit others by creating change in your community. Catherine McElroy, an attendee of the summit, thought long and hard about this assignment, and decided she had a way to change her school and her community. With the help of a GSLT member, Kameon Serlaren Prather, and many hours at starbucks, FUSE was born.
